I contracted malware. I took my laptop to the location on Spring Mountain after wasting time buying "fix-it "programs from malwaerbytes.com, who's online technician could not deliver. LX said I needed a new hard drive. After some hesitation,I paid for one even though I could not understand why they couldn't chase down an infection. Too diffucult? Impossible? Maybe. I think they are better at replacing parts rather than troubleshooting and repairing.Never mind the markup on the hard drive, what bothered me was the attitude on the call back/ come back. I came back with computer because the sound would stop after the computer went into screen saver; requiring me to restart computer to regain sound. That's when I, like the Terry P. reviewer heard laughter in the back plus PROFANITY followed by the foolish advice of never letting the screen go idle(yeah right). They took it back in for repair again in accordance with warranty. The sound was restored but the computer has never been the same. The card reader slot is damaged- it will no longer hold the slide in cover plate in place( I use tape). Also, the quick scroll-down on the mouse/finger pad doesn't work anymore. I won't go back again. Not to that location! Its all about the attitude. They(LX) give me the feeling of being a sharecropper who had no other choice in where to by seeds. Are they (LX)run by people who, after a long distinguished career in the IT business -keeping sophisticated networks up and running, then decided to start their own business? Or , are they some excon(s) that acquired a little knowledge from the result of having a lot of time on their hands? I advise anyone with a laptop problem to go to an authorized repair technician, or be prepared to send their computer back to the manufacturer for repair. Always have a current warranty!
