My husband and I opted to do a Staycation at Green Valley Ranch since we were going to the 3 Doors Down concert at their events center which was absolutely fantastic. We've stayed at GVR several times previously and have always had a pleasant stay however, I believe it's about time they updated their décor--the room we stayed in had an old musty yellow color pallet that reminded me of something you'd find in your great grandparents house. And some of the furniture looked worn and needing replacing. Even so, it was still a nice room with a view of the pool & spa area and a very comfortable bed. The only thing that really caused me dismay was a couple of partially dried urine drops on the toilet seat. Since I've never encountered such an issue before while staying at GVR I tried to dismiss it as a uncommon oversight.
Prior to the concert we enjoyed a 50 minute couples massage at their spa and dinner at Hanks (which was certainly not our best experience at the restaurant).
After the concert we enjoyed a nice peaceful night's sleep even though we were very close to the elevators. The next morning we ordered room service--they were very prompt and the breakfast was very enjoyable. My husband opted for French toast while I had the avocado & crab omelet.
Although it was a quick mini vacation it was relaxing- but certainly would have enjoyed staying snuggled up in bed longer.
