  • So not to miss out on this hype train, I've finally had the chance to try Pandan this weekend. After supper, we've biked over to Saint Henri and arrived at Pandan around 8:50pm, 10 minutes shy of closing time. I've read about their infamous line ups that left people pissed off so I was glad to stop by during a lightly raining Friday night. When we got inside, there was about 4 clients ahead of us, so it didn't seam too bad. Good : At least I can say I've finally tried rolled ice cream. It's kinda like regular ice cream, but more firm. It was cool to watch how they make it in front of you, but when you have to watch it 5-6 times for everyone in front of you, then you just wish there was a more efficient way to make it. Bad : The small room is humid as hell. There were 5 people in front of me and we still had to wait 35 minutes to get our ice cream. We ordered a pandan sundae and a chocolate chai. After I got my ice cream, they began closing up but noticed we were still standing in the shop. Finally the girl asked "did you order 2 ice creams?" We explained that we're waiting for our second one, before she proceeds to making it. The chocolate chai was pretty good, I liked that it was not too sweet and the chai flavour wasn't too overpowering. However, the pandan ice cream left me pretty disappointed because the flavour was too mild. I want to say the flavours are unique and worth the wait, but I've actually tried way better pandan ice cream l'Armoire Glaciers. Bottom line: Go super early during opening or really late at night during closing, bring a sudoku or a cross word puzzle to keep you busy during the wait. I personally found it okay at best, but most likely wouldn't go back.
