| - Horrible experience. Bern is extremely disorganized. I set an appt with him, but then he later had to change it because he had overbooked for that day. I had no problem with rescheduling. Office help, Sandy, called to confirm time with me. I couldn't make it at that time, as I had to meet my son at his school. I could meet any other time that week, as I work from home. She told me Bern would call me to coordinate a time. No call from Bern. 2 maids show up unexpectedly; no notice. I have 2 high school boys, so you can imagine my surprise when maids showed up unannounced. I knew the bedrooms and bath had to look like an explosion went off. So, I raced around picking up clothes, water bottles, shoes, etc. while on a conference call which I had previously scheduled. Extremely annoyed! Sandy called to tell me the maids were on my front porch, and I said I wasn't expecting them. She said, "Oh didn't Bern call you?" I asked her to have him cal me immediately.
So I tell the maids what I'd like done, starting with the plant shelves. I had a coupon for 2 hours, 2 maids $109 and the coupon read "happy spring cleaning". Well they don't do plant shelves for liability reasons; can't go over 3' off the ground. They told me I could call and request that as an additional service, but that someone else would have to come out and dust the shelves. Isn't that part of "Spring Cleaning", cleaning those hard to reach places that don't get cleaned often!? That was the main reason I decided to have the place cleaned. Every single other place I have used over the years has always included that in the Spring Cleaning!!! They couldn't do the tops of my cabinets either, for the same reason.
He called about 20 minutes later. He was kind of laughing and said, Oh, I hear we gave you a surprise. Not the least bit funny. I was still picking up the house so they could clean. He said Sandy didn't communicate to him that she told me he'd be calling me to set up a time. So, I super annoyed already, first because I had no notice that they were coming so parts of the house were a disaster, and now they weren't able to do what needed, which was the whole reason I called them in the first place. Bern said he wished he could think of something to do to make up for my frustration, but he couldn't think of anything! Really? The only thing he could think of was to pull the maids off the job.I thought, I just ran around the place for the last 30 minutes scrambling to pick everything up so they could clean. He asked i I had any ideas, and my reply was to send the guy over to clean the plant shelves. I thought that was reasonable. There are 2 long shelves; that's it! Oh no, he wouldn't be able to do that because I was only using the flyer and that isn't included in his Spring Cleaning. he again said he could pull the maids off the job, and I said not necessary, but maybe you should train your office help to be better communicators when they commit you to do something, so that you follow through with it. I told him that he was forcing me to give him a bad review. So, with that, he hung up on me. A grown man resorts to hanging up on a client. Bern, if you are that overwhelmed, maybe you should hire more help. Then he called the maids and pulled them off the job. I thought the maid was going to cry. You are very unprofessional and disorganized. My husband owns his own business and so do our boys, and YOU DON'T TREAT CUSTOMERS THAT WAY, EVER!!! LADIES OF VAL VISTA LAKES, NEVER, EVER USE THIS COMPANY!
PS-This is the second time I had called his company. The first time was a few years ago for a quote to clean something, but when arrived he said that whatever it was, he could do that either. Hopefully I won't forget about this in a few years and call them again. Bern, do me a favor and put a note in your computer too remind me not to use you! Thanks!
*The only reason he got 1 star is because the 2 maids at my house were nice!
