After I posted the Yelp review regarding the clearly altered receipt that inflated the tip, as well as the initial refusals by the restaurant to address it when I tried to work with them, I did receive a credit back to my account. I also eventually received a response from the owner via Yelp. (I don't understand why more owners/managers don't use Yelp as a way to improve their customer satisfaction. My MBA has an emphasis on Service Marketing/Strategy and study after study shows that if the service recovery is good after a mistake, you normally end up with a very satisfied client.)
FYI- No word about if the employee that forged the extra tip was fired or disciplined in any way.
