Where do I begin with this review?
Let's start with the price and admission. As a group before we arrived at approximately 930 in the morning. To paying adults and two teenagers. Here's where things start getting interesting, my niece had her student ID and was therefore given the student discount.
I showed my military ID and was given the military discount, my wife then produced her dependent military ID and was told that the discount only applied to the military member. My son who is 16 years old did not have a student ID and despite showing his drivers license to show his actual age was not given the discount either.
$85 later we were allowed to enter the park. Once inside, many of the animals were not on exhibit. There was one in closure after another with the sign apologizing the animal had been moved or that the exhibit was temporarily closed. So as it turns out we spent $85 to walk around and look at dirt.
Instead of adding another animal exhibit, the Phoenix zoo decided to create a walk-through with Jurassic Park music to look at an exhibit of fake fossils. Which, it is important to point out you have to pay separately for. So let me get this straight, you want me to pay extra to look at fake stuff?
Furthermore, kettle corn is now eight dollars a bag, doesn't the Phoenix zoo fleece you enough with the admissions, and price of food? They could at the very least have a few animals to look at.
