Haven't used this agency as MY Broker/Agent, but the buyer's of my home used them. What I experienced on my end of the transaction was quite unprofessional. I had a situation where the broker was found in my home without an appointment (which was required), baking cookies to test the oven per the (out of town) buyer's request.(This is AFTER the inspection had already been done and everything was noted fine with the oven). Agent was there with her two kids and with the buyer's best friend.
We were supposed to be out of the country but hadn't left yet. Husband just happened to go by the house to pick up a few items we'd left since we moved. Mind you, escrow didn't close for another 10 days! Agent explained was she was there to do the final walk-thru and buyer wanted her to bake a batch of cookies to see how they came out. Baking cookies isn't on any walk-through checklist I've ever seen. This is unacceptable. If something had happened to MY home while they were trespassing, who would of been liable for the damage? ME!!
I wrote an email to the Broker informing him of the experience we had with his agent, but mostly asking that he make sure she was trained properly in what is acceptable. There has been zero response, so I assume he agrees with these types of actions as standard practice. Unbelievable.
