  • As previously noted, I got both sets of ear piercings at the Merle Norman Cosmetics chain, and I must say that I was decidedly less impressed with my visit to the Sunridge Mall location. The selection of studs was fairly limited here; there were some sparkly jeweled studs and a lot of Disney-inspired little-girl earring sets, but nothing simple or plain that appealed to more mature aesthetic tastes. The price range for these earrings was also relatively higher than those available at Chinook. I was not pleased. When it came down to the actual piercing the lady who helped me out wasn't terribly accomodating or even friendly. Granted, she wasn't mean or really frosty, but there was a decided lack of warmth in the service provided. I also ended up with slightly disparate distances between the sets of piercings in both ears; she didn't think it was necessary to reposition the markers when I mentioned that I thought they were asymmetrical, and then insisted that the difference was due to my earlobes being lopsided. For the piercing service alone I give this location only 2 stars.
