| - This is a great steakhouse, especially if you're looking for a USDA prime steakhouse that's not in the downtown or Scottsdale area. It's inside the Wild Horse Pass Hotel.
The decor rings classic steakhouse. It has dark woods, an elegant ambiance, and waiters in traditional tuxedos. There is a lot of football memorabilia to honor Don Shula (hence the name). The wait staff is very good for an upscale restaurant. They knew the menu well and were very friendly.
The bread is great, warm yet crusty, and served with butter. I had the seared ahi appetizer, which was excellent. It was perfectly rare with sesame seasoning.
I had the 12 ounce filet, cooked medium rare with a nice char on the outside. It had a great degree of marbling, as you would expect from prime beef. Overall, a very solid filet.
For sides, I had creamed spinach and potatoes. Both were great and clearly every element was homemade.
Dessert was a dark chocolate layer cake. It was moist and decadent, definitely a must for chocolate lovers like myself.
