  • I am new to campus just being hired here at the U of I, so finding close places for lunch was a priority of mine. I stumbled upon Burrito King one day and boy am I glad I did. I first found their truck that lingers around Green St. I tried their namesake, a burrito, and man, they earned their name. I got the chorizo hold the onion and it was magnificent. The next week, I got the chicken, next I got the steak. Yep, there's a trend. Each time, I was blown away. Once students were gone, I was disappointed to learn the truck was no more. Finally, I discovered during my walk an actual restaurant. So, I leapt inside and ordered the Super Nachos with chorizo. While a brilliant idea food wise, a terrible idea walking back to the office wise. I could only consume, maybe, half and what I carried back weighed at least two pounds. It was heavenly. Today, I ordered online for takeout, $4.99 two tacos, rice and beans. YEP $4.99 TWO TACOS, RICE AND BEANS!!!!!. Once again, Burrito King was excellent. The food was ready in the 20 minute window I was provided, it was still hot when I got back to my office and it was delicious. If you're a fan of good Mexican food, give it a shot. If you like some heat with your food, definitely get the hot sauce. It'll light you up and still leave you smiling.
