| - My husband and I are fans!! Delano is our go-to resort each time we are in Vegas (which is about 3-4 times per year). I have to admit I do miss it being THEhotel however we are still big fans. Here are the pros (no real cons): Very clean, smells amazing, parking is extremely easy and very close and convenient to get in and out of the hotel and the casino. The pool of course is wonderful. It is shared with Mandalay Bay. Large wave pool and lazy river along with several other pools, one being a quite relaxing pool just for Delano guests. The buffet inside Mandalay Bay casino is by far the best buffet on the strip. We've tried plenty of them. So, crab legs and YUMMY prime rib are always found on the buffet and since my husband loves sushi too, he really loves that they have that as well on their buffet. Good quality food, not just something to fill you up. When you're not eating the buffet, you MUST eat at Citizens. It's a casual place and GREAT food consistently!!!! Pricey as anything is in Vegas but well worth it!
Since the hotel became Delano, the decor has changed to a white leather and gold trim style....(Side note to management) THEhotel's decor was better I have to say. I also preferred the bath products better when it was THEhotel.
Anyway, Delano is an all suites hotel and so each room has 2 bathrooms (well 1 full and 1 1/2). Rooms also have a true separate living room (with a door dividing the bedroom from the living room), a tv and a couch so someone could actually sleep on the couch (but it doesn't pull out to a sofa so they'd have to be a child or someone shorter). The main bathroom is very spacious, includes a nice size tub and stand up separate shower. There is a tv in the bathroom as well. And let me tell you....the beds and pillows are AMAZING!!! We've actually inquired as to how to purchase their bed! They say they get that request frequently.
For the value you get, which we've paid anywhere from $90-$200/night, it's the best for that price range on the strip! I find other hotels in the same price range and it's a small, nothing out of the ordinary hotel room. I should also share with you, I am a hotel snob and am VERY particular - this hotel/resort definitely meets my standards in all aspects! And, if you are part of the Mlife rewards program (which is free), you also can receive points for Southwest Airlines or Hyatt Hotels for staying at the MGM owned property in addition to your MLife credits.
I've stayed at a lot of the properties on the strip over the course of the last 25 years or so and Delano is it!
