OK, this isn't the first time I've been in an AJ's but it's the first time I've been in THIS one. AJ's has the categories of foodstuffs that you'd find in a Safeway or Sprouts, but think of it as not as much to choose from in each category. The produce is very nicely laid out, and even includes locally-grown items. Meat and seafood is in the back in a fairly elaborate case--seafood, beef, chicken, pork, and various combinations like bacon-wrapped scallops and pecan-encrusted tilapia.
There is a nice wine "cellar" and a deli area. There's even a small outdoor seating area for eating.
AJ's is nice on one hand because you can find one-of-a-kind items. One the other hand, my experience in here was almost enough to induce a panic attack if you don't like small spaces crowded with people. There also isn't very logical organization of items.
So while it's nice for some things, I don't think I'll be shopping here every week.
