| - This was legitimately the worst experience I've had in my history on Yelp. I looked at my rating distribution and seriously, this is the first and only 1 star I've ever given and I've been writing Yelp reviews for years now!
Fox is TERRIBLE. The entire experience was SOOOO BAD. I normally take 1 star ratings with a grain of salt because honestly, most businesses aren't THAT bad, but FOX IS!! I could write 50 pages listing all the reasons Fox is the worst, but since Yelp has a character limit, I'll try to stick to the highlights:
1) Checking in with the desk agent: The customer service is incredibly bad. For a minute I even thought I was being Punk'd (Ashton?? Where are you??) The agent who "helped" me was literally taking personal phone calls on his cell phone and texting while I was at the counter. Like, I literally had to wait for him to finish his call in the middle of him helping me. Like actually. I realize this sounds too crazy to be real but seriously. This actually happened and he acted like this was completely normal.
2) Picking up the car: I walked away from the counter with my print out and out to the dumpster fire that is the vehicle pick up. OH. MY. GOD. People EVERYWHERE. Everyone is confused, customers and employees alike. It's a complete sh*t show. One employee was literally pointing at people and cars and shouting, "Hey you, just uhhh, take that car". Again, this sounds like an exaggeration but I assure you, I am being so serious right now.
3) Car availability. People all around me were complaining that they didn't have the cars they reserved; they tried to throw a family of 5 with full sized teenaged kids in a compact car and they told him, "You either take this or the two door Camaro because that's all we have for you right now". Wtf?? I got lucky and at least got a minivan instead of the full size SUV I reserved (I needed the extra seats so there's no way I could have settled for anything smaller).
3) Payment: I looked at my print out and realize the desk agent charged me $400+ for insurance when I specifically said, "I do not want any of the insurance. My insurance and credit card have me covered. To confirm, I am waiving all of the insurance you are offering me." I made it a point to be so clear because he was barely paying attention to me, so I KNOW there was no confusion there. And yet he charged me. Sneaky, sneaky, sneaky.... I went back inside and another man asked how he could help me. I told him what happened, he looked at the original desk agent who helped, who stared me up and down and said, "I'm busy. You can help her." and went back to texting on his phone. It got resolved, but both agents had a huge attitude about it.
HOW IS THIS PLACE EVEN REAL?? It blows my freaking mind how terrible this was!!! And believe it or not, I have so much more to write but I'm getting annoyed all over again thinking about it so I'll leave all the other smaller stuff out. Just trust me when I say NEVER EVER EVER USE FOX RENT A CAR EVER. NEVER. NOT EVEN IF THEY'RE THE LAST CAR RENTAL PLACE ON EARTH. JUST GO BUY A CAR INSTEAD. TRUST ME. YOU WOULD BE SAVING YOURSELF A LOT OF TROUBLE.
The only, ONLY part of the entire experience that was decent was turning in the car at the end of the rental period. The lady who checked me in was super sweet and quick. And that's it. That's literally it. Everything else was the worst.
