  • The selection is great. There's all sorts of fun stuff, and whenever I've got a friend in town, time to kill, and it's not nice enough to go wander around outside, a trip to Big Fun (usually this one) is in order. It's great to just geek out and reminisce and, if the mood so calls for it, buy back a little piece of your childhood or get that awesome G.I. Joe vehicle that you never got for Christmas. Beyond that, they've got a great selection of cards, both appropriate and inappropriate. They're generally less than a big-box store's card section, too. However, I've got some complaints. Trying to sell to them is shades of "Pawn Stars;" expect whatever you give them to be on the shelf in a week with a price tag of two to three times what they paid you. I understand that's how it works in the resale retail business, but they just seem to be very egregious about this. Second, there's some staffing issues. Retail is a terrible job, I'll admit that; customers blame the cashier for every problem the customer experienced ever, anywhere. That, and constantly hearing "wow, it must be cool to work here" thirty times every hour has to get tiresome. I don't expect mandatory fourteen pieces of flair and them singing a special song when I make a purchase over $10, but holy crap! I feel awkward just walking in there in anticipation that I'm going to be stared down and made the subject of a blog entry detailing how big of a jerk I unintentionally am. It's been getting better, but it still feels a little "off." All in all, it's a good place run by good people.
