| - I've always intended to start doing my own Yelp reviews since I rely on them heavily, but could never sit down and get started...until now, so here goes my first:
My cousin and I had stumbled upon this place a few weeks ago, thanks to Groupon (which I believe you can still purchase) Usually it's $20 entry per person, so ultimately we got two for the price of one. Yes.
First things first. If you're new to the spa scene, especially with this being a Korean spa, make sure you let the receptionist know so that she can give you the lowdown and you can get better acquainted with the various rooms and regulations. That was our first mistake - We had just walked in totally clueless. Consequently, an older asian lady had scolded us in the powder room for wearing our bathing suits in the jacuzzi room. So be prepared to go out in your birthday suit on the first floor (which is gender separated btw). Also, we weren't aware of this, but there are toothbrushes and razors at your convenience just right before you enter the locker rooms.
Once you get all showered up, soaked in the jacuzzi to your heart's content, and sweated out all your toxins in the steam and sauna rooms, you can then shower again (they're all about cleanliness), throw on the oversized T-shirt and shorts they provide you with, and head up to the second floor.
There are several rooms here which all incorporate eastern elements such as jade and red clay, that supposedly aid in a variety of ailments. Signs in front of each room provide you with more details on this since I have forgotten the exact verbiage. My favorite was the red clay ball room - so relaxing!!! The concept is simple - you lay on a bed of heated tiny red clay balls and just relax. Try not to fall asleep.
There was also a space to follow a yoga instruction DVD, a snack bar (which we didn't get to eat at), an ice room (which was under construction at the time we went, but looked pretty cool...get it? nevermind), a small gym facility, and lots of comfy recliners to relax in.
There are a number of spa services available for separate fees, but we just wanted to check this place out. We enjoyed it.
