I've never had any tattoos before, so I was really nervous about everything. I've been in tattoo/piercing shops before and I've always felt a little weird due to snobby front desk people and bad attitudes in general. This place is NOT like that. I made my first appointment for a consultation with Scott LaMadline after seeing his outstanding portfolio online. He emailed me back with his thoughts on my concept and seemed really excited about it. The consultation was good, and he had a sketch done about a week later and it was even better than I imagined.
The atmosphere of this place is unlike any other shop I've been in. It's casual and has an art gallery feel to it. The entire place is filled with original artwork and awards won by the artists. The girls working at the front desk are super friendly and helpful about setting up appointments.
I've had three 4-5 hour sessions with Scott so far and every time I've been more impressed than the last. We just started doing color on the lower half of my sleeve and it's incredible. He is very friendly and professional. He's doing a piece that is a memorial for my pets that have passed. When he got done coloring in one of my ferrets it actually made me tear up a little bit. He really is that good.
Nothing but good experiences here. I wouldn't think of going to another place in Phoenix for any of my future work. It's a little on the expensive side, but I think when it comes to tattoos, you get what you pay for. If you want a cheap, tacky tattoo that won't hold up over time, go somewhere else. If you want beautiful, quality work this is the place for you.
