My husband and I attended the recent community event at Monster Mini Golf and we had a blast! This was my first event with Yelp and I wasn't sure what to expect. I was surprised that we had the whole place to ourselves...it felt so exclusive to see the sign at the entrance welcoming us Yelpers!
We were welcomed by Rachel and it was nice to meet her in person after following her on Yelp and Instagram. I also appreciated our welcome by the owner's of the mini golf. It was great to hear their story and really interesting to know that they moved to Pittsburgh just to run this business!
The food was great with pizza, pretzels, beer and even a sundae bar! My husband and I planned to grab a bite afterwards because we thought we'd just be getting snacks. I can't believe all of this was free!
The mini golf was a lot of fun! The course looked small from the outside and I wasn't sure it'd be as fun as a large outdoor course, but that changed once we started. The layout of the course took advantage of the space and it felt just like any time I've done mini golf outside. The course was fun and challenging enough for me, a non golfer! I really like the hole where we had to spin a wheel to find out how to take our first swing. And I loved the interaction with the staff throughout the course.
The best part of the night was meeting some of the other Yelpers! I have loved reading through the other Elite profiles of the people I met and realized I need to step up my game on reviews! It's fun to get such perspective about places in Pittsburgh! There seems to be a real loyalty for Yelp and FROM Yelp. That's awesome and I'm super happy to be a part of the community!
