| - OK have to include a hotel review, so this place is no longer affiliated with Super 8, it now the Ellis Island Hotel, Casino, and Brewery!
This review will be of the hotel, as I have already reviewed food and beverage for this establishment.
The hotel is under renovation, and the newly remodeled rooms are actually pretty nice, my only complaint is inconsistency. Some of the new rooms have shutter style windows, others kept the blackout curtains, and the furnishings tend to be slightly different as well, but overall the remodeled rooms are much nicer than the standard rooms which are old and worn.
On my recent trip, I booked a Deluxe Room which are the remodeled rooms, but was given a standard room, a quick trip to the front desk however quickly remedied the situation.
The rooms have very comfy new beds which are just amazing, so damn comfortable! The furnishings and lighting have been updated as well, and the tubs and bathrooms have also received a makeover.
Be aware the bathrooms are incredibly small as is the sink area, but the rooms are actually quite spacious.
There is a $20 a night resort fee however, but this gets you two bottle of waters per day, wifi, and a free mini growler of beer. You also get breakfast coupons as well .
This place isn't the Wynn or Palazzo , but it's fairly priced, has great food options to include the 24 Hour Café, decent Beer made on site for $2.25 for a 20oz beer, and plenty of free entertainment.
The strip is a mere 10 minute walk away as well!
