In my eyes Public House has always been overshadowed by their neighbor, Yard Bird because who can really pass up those famous fried chicken and waffles! But Public House has some solid lunch salads that I couldn't pass up and they were delicious!
The real gem though was the Chilean Sea Bass (pricey at $38 - ouch!) but so good and buttery. To balance this I ordered a side of brussels sprouts because.. health? But the brussels sprouts were covered in butter and not crunchy enough. $9 gets you a generous portion though.
The waitress really upsold the DIY desserts, and raved about their famous pastry chef. I selected a base, ice cream, and topping (cheesecake mousse, chocolate toffee ice cream, passionfruit curd) and the dessert reminded me of the DIY dessert you can make at Zero Zero in SF. It was.... alright. The mousse was refreshing because of the curd and tastes almost identical to Ellenos yogurt in Seattle - a good thing!
Not super impressed with dessert but love the salads here and the sea bass. Had a much better experience here for lunch than Yard Bird, and would recommend if you're in the mood for something other than YB's fried chicken.
