| - I went to Amanda for a facial last month. It was fine. They have a cute boutique, so I bought a top for my daughter and some little astringent pads Amanda recommended to keep my chest exfoliated as well.
This month I receive an email from One Love announcing their October specials. I called and booked a PCA peel for my face, plus an add on for a neck and chest peel. I have told Amanda in the past that I have been doing PCA peels for about 10 years, and that my skin is VERY thick and resilient, so I need a STRONG peel.
When I come in for the peel, Amanda keeps saying that we're going to do a light one this first time, so that SHE is comfortable with how my skin reacts. I kept saying that I know my skin, I have been doing PCA peels for 10 years, and I NEED my skin to peel if I am to consider the peel a success. After the neck and chest add-ons, it was a $170 peel that she discounted to $125 in order to mirror the discounted price she was offering for just the face.
So after we went through about three rounds of me telling her to not be afraid and that I need to actually PEEL when I buy a PEEL, she maintained her position that SHE needed to be comfortable and that we were going to take it easy this time.
So, now we are 10 days after the "peel", and I have not peeled. I'm sorry, but I AM THE CUSTOMER. It is my requirements that you need to satisfy in order to keep my business, not yours. In MY eyes, I wasted $125. I have a special event coming up, so now I have to pay another person to REALLY peel my skin in time for the event.
The reason people get peels, is so that the top few layers of their skin peels off, and as a result, their wrinkles and fine lines look less deep.. Makes sense, right?
I have found that a lot of places will tell you, "Oh, you don't really need to peel after a peel. Your skin will get the same benefits." That is bullshit. To me, results of a peel = peeling. Isn't that why it's called a "peel".
I think I had better end my review right now, because even I am getting tired of typing the word "peel" let alone reading that word anymore.
