| - Finally I found a great place where I can proudly introduce to my dear yelpers in Montréal. It's one block north from busy Mont Royal st on St. Laurent. Little new gem of Plateau Mont Royal!
Before starting anything, 2 door down, there is a store named, Le comptoir d'ailleurs (4817 Blvd St. Laurent!) , so don't confused when you walk down the street. This restaurant Blvd St. Laurent) is little and there is no big huge sign hanging so you have to open your eyes.
The decor and ambiance are very casual; you don't have to dressy but they won't say anything if you come to eat with your sparkly dress after dancing at the night clubs down the street. It reminds me of Ramen-ya in Japan; small open kitchen, busy chefs and cooks and counter (of course it's le comptoir! ) with Suppenküche in San Francisco touch( smooth wooden table and casual settings).
Food! You have to , must order their homemade Charcuteries! It was amazing. Additional to that the homemade mustard, pickles, and the croutons are "Absolutely blow your mind"!!
I love blood sausages so I had to order the Boudin noir. My husband ordered the pull pork sandwich. It was lunch time so all of the plats come with your choice of soups. The soup was delicious. I wanted to take photos of the Charcuteries but I was so excited to eat I forgot that one but I got the soup photo :P And again I got super excited for the main course. When I realized that I didn't take any photos, I already ate 90% of the boudin. So you have to go there and find out yourself! My husband sandwich was super hot and delicious. I love when restaurant serves hot sandwich really "HOT"
The dessert! They have only 3 desserts but it's only $3 or $3.5 for little portion. It was perfect for the lunch time. They offer the lemon curd, pain perdu and apple tart.
They also has very decent nice wine list: If you've been to Quebec, you already know that "Any drinks with alcohol in it" are super expensive. We drank a bottle of Sancerre $46 and it was really good with the charcuteries and other plats.
Ohohoh I forgot to tell you how "reasonable price"= cheap ($8-$15) :P all the food is. For the quality and quantity, it was great deal for us. We can spend little bit more on wine since the food is so cheap.
If you visit their Facebook site, you can see the hours and other informations. It's all french but you have translator so use it!
