| - Solid Thai food to be found in Vegas. The group of us ordered the Tom Kha Gai soup and Tod Mun fish cakes to start. I've had the fish cakes here before and they are, as always, soft and flavourful, especially with the accompanying diced cucumbers and sweet/sour sauce. The soup had chicken that was a little chewy, but was nicely spicy and piping hot-- though to be honest, I'm not sure why we ordered soup in 105 degree weather!
On to the entrées, which were a mixed bag for me. I enjoyed the nuttiness and creaminess of the Penang Curry (paired nicely with tofu) as well as the Pad See Ew noodles. The sweetness from the palm sugar was noticeable in those dishes but were not overpowering. However, the Mee Krob crispy noodles tasted oddly chemical-like to me. I just could not eat them, and I think it was just the combination of spices and vegetables that created a strange odour and taste. The northern curry with (sparse) catfish was a little on the bland side for me and not quite what I'd expected. It was almost like soup; sauce was thin and did not hold up to the rice I drizzled it over.
Overall, the food was good but nothing was outstanding. An enjoyable Thai dining experience, nonetheless, especially in their newly-renovated space. 3.5 stars.
