I am completely baffled by the severe lack of professionalism of healthcare providers in Las Vegas. My situation is that I am on dialysis and in need of a kidney transplant. I can't get a kidney until I've been put on the transplant waitlist and I can't get on the waitlist until I've been evaluated. As part of the evaluation, I had to have a pap so I went to Dr Burns office making it clear to everyone I came in contact with that I am being evaluated for transplant surgery and need to have my results forwarded to the hospital. It was bad enough that I had to drive all the way back to this dr office just to get results that they could have faxed to Baylor Hospital but oh well. The kicker was the fact that Baylor then contacted dr burns office requesting a fax simply stating that fluconazole(sp.) was prescribed to clear up the yeast. A week goes by without word from dr burns office. Then Baylor calls me informing me that my evaluation for transplant is being held up because burns has yet to comply with Baylor's request. So I call burns office today again stressing that Baylor needs the faxed statement and that this is all for a transplant which they are holding up the process. I was put on hold and then told that YES someone did speak to Baylor Hospital and that there was a note and included in that note was that burns needed to re-swab me before sending the faxed statement to Baylor. So why didn't burns office call me to schedule an appt when the note was produced? Why did they just sit on this note while I wait to hear if my name is moving toward a transplant list? I don't know if it's because the drs have crappy training and their staff just emulates those behaviors or if it's just a crappy healthcare staff of locals but this seems to be the norm in las vegas. I have never had a healthcare office drop the ball
