Montreal is a beautiful city with very polite and friendly residents, but unfortunately during our visit (June 24-28, 2016) the city had lots of building construction and road closures going on. The road closures were due to repairs throughout the city. It's understandable, since they are trying to repair old pipes and such before cold weather starts, but there was so much of it going on at the same time. Almost every other street was partially blocked and covered with orange cones. Also, it was so sad to see that such gorgeousness was somewhat overtaken by graffiti in some areas of the city. I wish people would demonstrate a little respect for history and someone else's property, but I guess that's too much to ask for when it comes to the morons that do graffiti.
