| - After rescuing an 8 month old Schnauzer mix, Harry, we were sad to learn that although he was super sweet and snuggly at home, he was aggressive towards other dogs on our walks. Our sweet fluffy puppy would completely lose his mind when seeing another dog, even at a distance. He would yelp, bark, lunge, etc. until we were completely out of eyesight of the other dog. I dreaded going on walks, to the vet, groomer or anywhere where he might see another dog.
I immediately started searching for a trainer online, and was pleased to find Brenda, who has experience training dogs with interdog aggression.
Little did I know, Brenda is FULL SERVICE. Not only did she address his interdog aggression, she provided basic puppy manners training, education for us as dog parents, recommendations for various dog products (food, treats, toys, leashes), suggestions for activities and other ways to manage his energy, and insight into why Harry acted certain ways, etc. She brought her own dog over to practice walking with Harry, and even accompanied us to a park last week where there were dozens of other dogs.
We are still working on Harry's behavior, but he has shown huge improvements since training with Brenda. Seeing another dog from a distance is no longer a problem. When another dog gets close, he might start to whine or bark a little but I now have the tools to manage his behavior and take him public places without him having a full on FREAK OUT.
Highly, highly recommend Brenda! As a bonus, she is quick to respond to phone calls and texts, confirms her appointments, arrives on time and oh ya-is just an awesome person to be around!
