| - I wasn't super impressed. It was okay. The atmosphere was a bit strange, I felt. The building seems to be in the middle of nowhere (well, "nowhere" meaning the dark and dingy outskirts of the city, where streets are unlit and homeless folk meander around, where I would be afraid to park my car along a side street and especially afraid to walk by myself from said side street to building...). While my husband drove around to find parking, my friends filled me in on the complimentary valet situation. We wouldn't have known otherwise; it really wasn't clearly visible on the signage, if it was stated at all (not sure).
The building itself is huge, and therefore seemed empty. Bright fluorescent lighting and retail clothing displays are not really my personal idea of a fun, party atmosphere...it was a bit odd. But the other side, where drinks are served, was more fun. Drinks were good, the mason jar theme was quirky and unique. The music being played was alright, but nothing to get me racing over to the dance floor over. (Backstreet Boys, anyone..?) I didn't order food, but partly due to the fact that everyone warned me it would take nearly an hour to get it. (Really..?) And the valet situation at the end of the night was absurd. We waited in line for at least 20 minutes before asking for our keys and walking to get the car ourselves. That's what you get when the service is free, I supposed.
I'd say the main reason I had fun there was the people we were with. Maybe I just don't get the whole downtown Phoenix thing...not really my scene. Guess I'm not one of the hipsters, but I'm okay with that. Although I'd go again if that's where the group wanted to go, I probably wouldn't otherwise.
