After breakfast with the wife, I went back to the room and prepared for a short trip by myself. I looked at what's around me on Google Maps. I decided to see lake mead. About 10 minutes east from Lake Las Vegas is the check point, and you have to pay $10 for a ticket in. The drive was a bit desolate, but I didn't mind the solitude. I went to see the 3 forks at hole 33, which was a look out point. Then to Long View another vista point. There was one other person. I walked out towards the desert and it was gloriously lonesome. It was spiritual in some sense. I saw the lake and many interesting rock formations, took a lot of pictures, but I didn't know what I was doing. I was not good at using the tripod. By 4:00pm, I was exhausted. Lugging my equipment in the sun was tiresome work. I think if you're a nature fan or photographer you're going to enjoy this. If you're looking to dump a body, you might have also found your place.
