I found this place through drinkowl.com when I was searching for places that were close enough to the Quartier des Spectacles to stop by for a quick drink before or after. Le Sainte Elisabeth has $5 domestic beers on tap during happy hour, so I was curious to check it out.
After reading a few negative reviews of the place, including a recent one star review, I was ready to be disappointed when I went to Le Sainte Elisabeth earlier this week, but wanted to check it out for the happy hour special before going to a concert at Places des Arts.
I was pleasantly surprised that the bar is totally charming and cozy. There were two spots on a love seat. At first I thought it was not going to be a great place to sit because it was near the door, though it was actually the closest seat to the fireplace and they had a fire going that evening. It was nice to warm up and gaze out at the patio, even though the patio was closed off due to the weather.
The bar turned out to be exactly what I was looking for - a cozy and cool spot to grab an affordable drink. I will definitely return to Le Sainte Elisabeth in the future.
