  • Let me put it this way. Call me crazy, call me stupid, but if I'm going to be driving 30 kilometers just for an oil change, there's a fucking good reason. And the reason is that I'm not even out of my car yet and three guys are around it and beginning to work. And the reason is because they do the job in less than 10 minutes. And because, in that less-than-10-minutes, I don't end up with just an oil change. Yeah, they changed the oil. They also replaced the filter, checked the air filter, added washer fluid, checked the power steering and radiator brake fluids, checked all the lights and valves and lines and boots and wipers and belts plus the exhaust system, cleaned the windshields, tested the battery, and adjusted the air pressure in all the tires to an exact, an exact I tell you, 30 front/32 rear psi. And they lubed the chassis. And then the door hinges. The fucking door hinges. Yeah, I can find a guy somewhere who'll change the oil for $30, $40, whatever. Maybe even less. But there are some things in life where the little extra change is definitely, unquestionably worth it. Best just-under $50 I ever spend.
