September 24th I walked to purchased a car under $9000. The sales person Haley quoted me $6600 but when it came time to signing the final contract they changed price to $6900 with my trade in Ford Excursion.
I asked the finance Rita why am in being charged $6900 if the sales person quoted me $6600. Rita said she did know but she will find out for me. A week went by and he Rita requested for my bank statement in which I provided to her personally.
Then the following day I informed Haley that the car engine flutters a little and it feel like the engine was not balanced. I asked her if she could provide me a inspection report and she says sure are mechanics do an thorough inspection on the cars before they sell them to customers. I said ok. A another week goes by. But for some reason i felt uncomfortable with the Mazda CX 9 2008 in which had 128,000 miles on because the following week now the air conditional comes on when I turned the car off. I said to myself OMG what is going on? Lol!
I have driven many used cars that was older than this Mazda CX 9 I very few maintenance or worry with the cars I bought in Chicago.
The informed Rita in finance that I reviewed the contract again I didn't want the GAP coverage that was listed on the contract for $799 because I can get that coverage on my regular insurance much cheaper. Rita stated to me in person that she will remove the GAP coverage. Another week goes by and for some the copy of the Bank I provided to her in person and by email was not clear enough for her to send to the finance loan company. Yes I drove back to the dealership again and provided her another copy that I personally got print from the bank. That time I asked Rita was she to find out why they increased the price. Rita stated that Haley was off and she will be in the following day. During that week on Friday the finance loan calls me for an interview and they where going over the contract specifics I ask them did Rita in finance remove the Gap coverage from the contract and the finance loan rep stated no. At this point I'm thinking what is really going on. Yes, this made feel even more uncomfortable. So, I declined acceptance of the contract loan because the loan finance company rep stated if I verbally agree to it this contract, yes you will be paying for the Gap coverage and yes my intrest rate as 28% in which I couldn't believe it was so high after all the cars I have purchased in the past and the new car I currently have now the intrest ranged from 4.9 to 7.9 percent intrest rate and my credit score was not good or great. Wow!!!
Then I see accessories fee on the contract for $385 but the car had no accessories. (Smile)
But the car did have the following:
1.) a cracked front windshield
2.) a non working cd/ media player
3.) non working driver side window in which malfunctioned/ stop working within in 15 days while I was driving the car. Yes, I had to manually pull the window up. (Smile)
4.) The driver side door had an cracking sound every time I opened or closed the door
5.) I took the CX9 2008 to a professional car shop for inspection myself and they discovered that the Engine transaxle mount for the front and back required to hold the engine (this explains why it felt the engine felt off balanced/ jerked at times because the mount the holds the engine was old and worn.
6.) The front and back shock and strut. (This also explains when I was driving it on the expressway it felt like the wheels of the car was rolling on concrete with no rubber on the tires.
So pretty much 3 1/2 weeks has gone by and we still have not reached an agreement.
Yes I have more on this story, But, I have to take care of some business but stay tuned. The reason for this review is to help to educate people and help them not to put themselves into a financially distress and how to recognize genuine customer service.
