Chapman VW Scottsdale is NOT a good place to buy anything.
Beware of buying parts at the Chapman Auto Group in Scottsdale!!!!!!
On August 18th at 4:52pm my wife and I bought used wheels/rims sold as Take Offs.
My wife and I were in the process of ordering a New 2017 Passat SEL Premium spending $35,000.00 to $45.000.00 dollars. I had already bought a 2016 Passat already. I did not like the stock rims/wheels so I was looking for a new set I liked. We were shopping at Chapman VW of Scottsdale so the Sales folks told us of GTI rims a set of 4 they had as Take Offs (removed from a customers vehicle). We were told the rims had less than 500 miles on them so with face value we assumed the rims were perfect. We worked numbers for price of the rims which came to a little over $700.00 for the set of 4. They only had 1 rim in the parts department which appeared ok at the time. We paid the money loaded the rims where I got very dirty loading the rims. When we got home I unloaded the rims and found the rims needed a lot of cleaning and inspecting. I spent almost 2 hours washing the dirty rims. I was very surprised the rims were so damaged as we were told less than 500 miles, My rims on my own car has 43,000 miles and have less damage.
On August 19th at 11am I attempted to return the rims back to VW of Scottsdale because of all of the damage. I was told, Take Offs are Not Refundable. No where on my receipt does it say the wheels were Take Offs or NO Refunds. The receipt only shows,,, 4, 18 wheel and the price nothing about used or take offs.
After trying to work with the Chapman parts manager which she said NO REFUNDS, I took this to the manger of Customer Relations Director Jamie. Jamie, told me the same thing. My wife and I were NEVER told no refund. Jamie told my yes is had been less than 24 hours since you bought the rims, if you do not want the rims sell them on CRAIGS LIST. I have Never been told in 50 years if buying anything your stuck with the item you just bought to sell it yourself, how low did I feel. She is wonderful as a Customer Relations Director my opinion NOT. She than sent in some guy to tell me the same thing. He told me they do not take any parts back that have been open, the rims were not in a box. He said I could have damaged the rims or maybe switched out the rims with different rims I was trying to return older rims. I told him I returned center caps one which was opened. Still I was never told about the TAKE OFFs and NO REFUND. I have never bought take offs. I asked why doesn't the receipt have an area on it where for TAKE OFFs and NO REFUND where I would initial indicating that I understood that...
We will most likely buy our 2017 Passat SEL Premium at one of the 2 VW dealers in Gilbert where we have always felt they were fair and treated my Wife and I good.....
Was the $700.00 worth $40,000.00 lose in New car sale and repeated business.
I see Jamie is responding to these listings in Yelp, I wonder since I'm complaining about her if she will have her manager respond to this complaint?
I wonder if the owner of Chapman agrees with Jamie's choice not to refund me...
Jamie at Chapman VW did ask if they could clean the rims having there detailed use their skills to freshen up the rims. The detailer did an OK job. BUT because of the morning events all I wanted was a refund. Because of the morning events I will never like the rims. All I asked for was a refund. Still NO refund.
09/07/2016..... Jamie did a reply from her office sad for me because I have no one to complain to. Jamie is the relations person, no one apparently checks here Yelp comments... She still believes we were told about the NO refund on TAKE OFFs.. All I can do is KNOW what goes around comes around. Jamie will get rewarded in one way or another by; an employee, co-worker, family member, a customer, or her BOSS.
She has very bad customer service skills.
