  • I'm a fan. I can't believe there is only one other review for this place. Are they new? Besides being awesomely French (I'm American, so there was definitely a novelty factor for me) Peur Depot was a unique little scary adventure! Yes, it's kinda pricey for how long it is - $20 for 20 min and many of those minutes are spent holding your hands on colored lights in order to "unlock" the next room, but they definitely got a few fun screams out of me! It is any set up the way typical haunted houses are; your party goes in separately from everyone else and each area is a little room or a hallway leading into a room. From the outside, it looks like they are in little train cars, maybe that's where the "depot" part comes from? It's fun! There aren't many actors, but the ones who greet you before you go in are funny and creepy; a tranny prostitute zombie, a guy with a teddy bear hat, etc. each wearing creepy light blue contacts. Even the lady who sells the tickets and concessions and souvenirs is in character. Though zombies are brainless lol.... Instead of making it super long, they focused on each scare, the elevator slowly and creakily slipping from the cable, slowly getting trapped and suffocated. There is a little crawling and you get a little wet and there are a couple areas of complete darkness, but it works out. The classic car coming towards you thing. No chainsaws at the end, haha, in fact, the end was the weakest part because it kind of just ENDS, like you just walk out. :/ Oh yeah and it scores your speed and accuracy holding down the colored buttons, so they've made it a bit of a game, as well. That part did seem to take a little too long, so if I were them, I would shorten it up. Plus, it wasn't very accurate because sometimes the lights wouldn't flash. The "nectar de human" SLUSH they sell is actually pomegranate not cherry like you may have expected, which is awesome for me and definitely looks more like blood than cherry would. Yum. Oh and I had to buy the picture they managed to take of me screaming as I was walking through! Good on them for not just taking a picture of people smiling before they go in or something stupid like that. Catching me screaming or with a funny expression is much more valuable and actually made me pay the $9 for a little 4X6 pic because it was THAT good and makes me laugh every time I look at it. :)
