| - So, on the search for a venue for my cake and champagne reception, I stumbled across this place. I emailed the venue and asked for details and explained to them what I was looking for. I told them I wanted to stay around $1500 and that I just wanted cake, champagne, music, and some of the traditional reception activities over the course of two hours. The lady I was emailing (Maritza Reyes) said for me to come in to see the venue and that they had numerous packages I could choose from to fit my needs.
So I decide to make the two hour drive from Arizona to see the venue. We show up for our appointment and she has us wait for five minutes because she was helping another couple. So, we wait.
She finally gets to us and asks what I'm looking for (like she hadn't actually read my emails). I tell her and she looks puzzled. So, she decides to give us a tour and stops mid tour and asks again what I want. I tell her AGAIN. Then she proceeds to tell me that my guests would just have to stay in the foyer area and that since we wouldn't order a meal, we wouldn't get to use the reception area. I told her that wasn't what I wanted.
She suddenly changed tune and asked "when is your wedding date again". I told her (for the third time) and all of a sudden she says "oh! I just booked that date over email just moments before you walked in. So sorry".
We couldn't walk quicker out of there. She didn't feel my day was profitable enough for her, so she lied to get me out. I mean, my wedding is on a Thursday night.
So, I drove two hours for a meeting that I could've avoided If the lady actually read my emails.
In addition to this, the area is definitely not the greatest. The location is a strip mall in a part of Vegas I wouldn't want my guests out in at night to walk to their cars after the reception.
Go to Emerald at Queensridge. Pricing is affordable and venue is much more beautiful!
