I've resisted writing this review and further resisted posting it; however because of a very particular need they fill, the fear/hesitation must end. My Dad's best friend received at home (his wish) Hospice from Nathan Adelson that was nothing short of incredible.
Nurses, therapists, clergy and and ancillary staff were available for the family & friends during his last few weeks. We were able to help him, be with him in shifts and have professionals to provide care we could not. The nurses were amongst the most caring I've ever encountered & I've been in many healthcare situations.
When the time came to say goodbye, we were advised and treated with the utmost professionalism and respect. After so much suffering from cancer, chemo and its complications it was a blessing that this beautiful man was able to pass with dignity on his terms.
His wife received excellent aftercare and referral to counseling. My family was so impressed by this care that as we formulate plans for when my own Father's illness progresses, Nathan Adelson is our choice. They provide compassionate care at a time when it is hard for most people to function.
There is no way around it: we will all die. Being able to make that transition surrounded by those you love and truly amazing folks to help is invaluable in my book. A non profit organization which meets a need and makes the worst time in your life more bearable = a true asset to the community.
