| - Yeah - it's taken me this long to stir up a review that I can acutally type in here without being banned from Yelp. The place is a joke. Went there on the last night in Vegas to see John Fogerty back in October 2014. Now this is my husband's FAVORITE guitar player, a HUGE CCR fan, so I surprised him with the tickets to top off a fabulous vacation. We are just 2 midwest folks trying to see a show. Yeah right.
The place was packed with an average age of say 55? Ok - so no big deal. This is a concert venue - so standing, dancing in place, those types of things SHOULD be ok? Well not so fast. When the old people are up and moving around, no problem. But then the fat midwestern folk are up and moving, WATCH OUT!!! We are a true threat to Vegas society apparently, as I have never seen such rude security folks in my life. Yikes!
Short of being thrown out of a John Fogerty concert (this wasn't Slayer people, this was a piece of old school Americana), I have never seen such unfair treatment of people in my life. I was threatened to be removed, because I literally stepped one step into the aisle. When I went down front to sit next to a friend, I was told I was going to be kicked out. Really? Ok - back to my seat. Then it was non-stop harassment for the next 30 minutes. I get it, you want to keep the order. But I doubt any 50+ year old person is going to give one rats arse that I wanted to see John Fogerty up close since I obviously couldn't take a picture (unless I had grey hair and then that was perfectly acceptable). The camera policy is outrageous, considering the amount of picture taking that was being done in plain view. But if the Gestapo is watching you, has a problem with you, or just plain wants their roid rage to take over, then you will be screwed.
The acoustics are not THAT awesome, and honestly the place is tiny! We have better venues in Columbus, OH. Sad but true. Skip this washed up place and save your hard earned money. It's a joke, and sad that any artist has to settle for playing here when there are lots of other better venues in this massive town. If artists knew how bad the security was in this place, they may actually chose to play somewhere else. But too bad for us, we won't see anyone at this venue again unless h*ll freezes over and it's the last place on Earth!
