| - I've just been in the neighborhood a little over 3 months having moved from NJ. When we closed on our house, we knew we needed new air conditioners. I searched the internet, Yelp, and other sites to find a vendor. I received three estimates to do the job during winter so I could get a discount. I ended up choosing Vanguard Heating & Cooling because they seemed both nice, had good ratings, and had reasonable prices. In addition, they utilized Trane units and from my research I knew they were among the best. They completed the job replacing both units and A-coils and also sealing my vents. Their price was a few thousand less than their competition with lower rated equipment. They were extremely nice, did a great job, and made sure we were satisfied. This is not my first rodeo, and I do a lot of carpentry, electrical, and plumbing work myself so I know how a job should be done. They raised the height of the units because the existing pad was too low, they completely leveled both the pads and also the new disconnect fuses, they used the units I specified with recent manufacturing dates, they wrapped pipes properly, they installed quality A-coils and taped all vent connections. They also did not charge me for items included in other bids.
I do not normally recommend anyone, but Vanguard is among the best I've had over the past 50 years or so. They even included all of my specific requirements in our contract. Many vendors would not do that. They are obviously a small outfit, but occasionally the small ones take the extra time to do the best job.
