I didn't know it at the time, but the cute dude I met here for a first date years ago was eventually going to become my husband. It was the first time either of us had been to Frankie's, and it seemed like as good a place as any to meet since we lived on opposite ends of Charleston. There's no guarantee *your* first date here will lead to a ring, but have a bunch of drinks and see what happens!
The tiki drinks here are STRONG, but delicious. The Kahiki Kai is probably my favorite, because it tastes like juice and gives you a wicked buzz (esp. if you're a lightweight like me). I recommend getting at least one drink in a souvenir tiki mug so you can take the adorable little fellas (or ladies) home with you.
It'll be dark as f**k when you first walk in, but your eyes adjust eventually. When we sit at the bar, we get to chitchat with the bartenders, who are friendly and prompt with service. Tables are good options if you want more privacy/intimacy, but there isn't always table service and you may have to pop up to the bar to get drinks.
Frankie's will always hold a special place in my heart, and I'm sure we'll be back to toast more anniversaries!
