  • Conveniently located upstairs in Empress Walk, it's a quick stop for anybody passing through North York Centre TTC or strolling along Yonge Street. Although Dollarama doesn't come close to the size or selection as your local walmart, you can find some of the same items at the same price. You can find pretty much any small household item in this store (e.g. kitchen utensils, dishes/cups, cleaning clothes, crafts, slippers, batteries, fish bowls, wrapping paper etc.). I'm still not a fan of the chemical smell that evidences the cheap-quality of some of the items in a place like this (and many others), but sometimes it's nice not to have to pay 5x more for a spatula when any one will do. Like all dollar stores, almost none of the items are actually just a "dollar" anymore, but they still do well to keep the prices down. I've been surprised at the decent service offered by staff here, especially in comparison to the service-hell that is walmart. Will keep coming back - I'm always happy to support a true Canadian owned company as well.
