  • Yes, as other reviews indicate, cosmetic upgrades are being implemented that don't really affect the quality of living of University Center Apartments by Cortland Partners. Despite the aesthetic changes there is still incompetent management that doesn't make an effort to control problem tenants of implement policy that actually solve issues, versus just a coat of paint. Parking passes - yes, they were issued. Hasn't changed the fact that the lot is full of cars with no stickers. When I asked Chris the manager why, he indicated that he didn't want to tow cars as it may upset the people with the cars that aren't supposed to be here anyway. And that is consistent with all the rules, they are implemented and "enforced" in a manner to support the problem makers and make it hard on the people who follow the community rules. Security Patrol - when you call them, they either don't pick up the phone at all or have to send someone to the property. Not sure how we benefit from a patrol that isn't here patrolling when you need them. Even when you do reach them, be prepared to call them night after night about the same problem as all any one does here is talk to people but they don't take any real actions to fix problems. Example, I have had to call security 3 nights in a row about the same dog. Management knows that the tenant doesn't pay a pet fee but allows them to keep the dog anyway even after telling me two weeks ago the dg was going to be removed. Both the assistant manager Whitney and the manager Chris have now lied about that. Also, we have a policy that pets aren't supposed to be left unattended on patios or or the lawn but this tenant is allowed to keep a dog on their patio for over 6 months and management does nothing to stop the barking. Trash - its everywhere. Patios are piled with trash and broken down appliances. Been there for months. The entire staff drives right by the piles everyday and says or does nothing. My next door neighbor hasn't taken a newspaper inside in 3 weeks. The trashcan policy isn't enforced so people routinely put multiple bags out and leave them all weekend because again management acts like they don't see them. Trash strewn across the parking lot each morning is a daily occurrence...if the patrol is out there at night, they are either asleep while the trash is being thrown around or are the ones leaving the trash on the lots. Pool Passes - handed out wristbands, never enforced. The pool is overrun, when it's actually open. Nest Thermostats - I can't run the air in my apartment so a cute thermostat doesn't do me any good. I have had the AC unit cleaned 4 times in 7 months and it still smells like mold and I'm afraid to run it for fear of health concerns. It's better off not running anyway, there is so much dog feces on the property that the AC unit pulls the foul smell inside. Complaints to Cortland Partners customer service just gets you the same run around.
