| - I went for a simple cleaning in 2011. It is difficult for me to do this during the week, so I scheduled it during my week of vacation. The first day they checked me out, and told me that I had some early gingivitis. Not surprising for me, as I have had it before. Then after talking for a while, they told me that they couldn't do the cleaning today, but that I had to come back for two more visits. They told me that they were going to aggressively treat it, and that it was a complex series of steps. The hygenist also asked what I was using now, and I told her that I was using an electric toothbrush recommended by my last dentist. I was very specific on the brand. She told me it was a very good one. Then said that I needed a take home treatment, but was vague on what was in it, other that it was an intense treatment. I ended up paying over $400 for this kit. When I went home I opened it up to find two things - a bottle of fluoride treatment, and the exact same electric toothbrush. When I went in for my second treatment, which ended up simply being a cleaning, I told her that it was the same toothbrush that I had. Her response was, "Oh, if you don't want it, you can leave it here with us." ???? I then asked what the third visit was for, and she replied "a check up" In short, I paid over $600 total for a cleaning, bottle of fluoride rinse, and the same toothbrush that I had.
Jump to 2014 for another cleaning. I hadn't gone back because of my negative experience, but couldn't get into other dentists quick enough for a cleaning. When I called them the receptionist told me that because I had not been there in 3 years, I was not considered an established patient, and that I needed to come in for another consultation. I said "Fine, but can I get a cleaning on the same day?" She said "No." ????? Since they don't have weekend hours, who in the heck can take off 2 days for a cleaning?
Avoid this place at all costs. I decided to wait an go to another dentist.
