OMG is a small bakery on Dundas West that has recently also delved a little closer to the full functioning cafe vibe.
During previous years I'd stopped in every now and then to grab some various brownies or cupcakes or dessert type thing. This place was never the cheapest place to get snack but things were always pretty good so I could justify the odd visit. I most recently stopped in for some various morning appropriate snacks.
They now offer these stuffed focaccia breads that have eggs baked into it with either cheese, veggies, or sausage. I opted for the Sausage version ($4.50). I will say that while I can appreciate the uniqueness to the approach, I wasn't really impressed with the sandwich. It was dry and needed sauce, and a single breakfast sausage stuck in the middle of it didn't give a good balance of flavours. Some cheese would've made it better too.
They also offer these home made pop tarts, which are somewhere between an actual pop tart but a bit more pie-like. Fruit filled pastries with icing on top which are really good but at $4.50 I don't think it was worth the price tag.
The banana bread was really good though, and $1.50 per slice was the steal of the day.
I'll stick to stopping in for random snacks, but admittedly am not as sold with their new options as I am the staples of their actual baked dessert goodies.
