| - Can't tell you how excited I was to move to a neighborhood where I can walk to a coffee shop. Unfortunately for me, I just don't love the coffee here. I really want to, and I keep trying, but its just "off" to me. I only order espresso drinks (specifically latte and cappuccino) and the flavor is not right for my taste. Maybe not intense enough? Lacking that caramel-y flavor that I am looking for? I want to say its not "thick" enough. I don't know, I may not have the vocabulary to describe coffee and put my finger on it, but I choose to leave my neighborhood for the next local shop rather than buy coffee here. I have even tried to add extra shots to no avail.
On the upside, for everything else they offer - its a good option. The food is ok and my kids love the trips for ice cream. I wish the baked items were locally made, if they are I am surprised that they are not tastier. But the times we can get there for ice cream are enjoyable. Although, I can tell you that we (and so many other neighbors I have asked) would visit more frequently if ABC were opened past dinner time. Maybe they already tried this and it didn't work for them. For now, we walk the kids to the local pharmacy after dinner to choose a treat out of the freezer. Equally fun for them, but I would prefer scoops.
The owner is SUPER nice and friendly. And the atmosphere is fun, even though I am not in to the Beatles thing - so many others clearly are. There is always a consistently pleasant crowd of patrons and obvious regulars. Everyone seems very pleased.
