We got turned on to Vietnamese food in Denver, used to go to New Saigon, took my son there when he was 2 weeks old. We called it "Happy Mouth," because that's what you had when you left. I have been on a quest worthy of Shrek for 13 years. I found it.
Tan Lac Vien (translated as New Happy Place) is my new Happy Place. The meats are seasoned perfectly. Right combination of salt and sweet and vinegar and umami. The fish sauce is so appealing I can drink it.
Very nice sized portions, excellent balance of very fresh green herbs and lettuce. We are reeling in delight. They were out of beef, so we had pork. Good quality, not at all chewy. If they would have had beef, I think one of us would have Meg Ryan orgasmic-ed at the table.
We'll be back, multiple times, guaranteed. See you there!
Third time here. Green curry so salty it was inedible. I sent it back. Everything else here seasoned perfectly.
