| - Okay, so I think at this point I am officially done with shopping or dealing with Kmart and although I liked the Shop your Way rewards they aren't enough to make me stay. I went to my local Kmart store 3 weeks ago during the Black Friday sale and created 2 layaways of stuff for my children. I paid one off online and planned to pay the other off when I went to pick them up that evening. I went to the store and waited in line for 2 hours with a 2 year old toddler and didn't pick up my merchandise. Now its the holiday season and generally the rule of thumb is hire more employees for the season, right? Well apparently this store doesn't operate that way. They had 2 people back there with 3 registers setup for use and only 1 being used. The one lady was only there to support the other one who was ringing people up at the register. So by the time I left 2 hours later only 3 people had been helped! I called the store the next day to ask what their layaway department hours were, they advised me that they were open until 9:30 pm. I got to the store at 9:00 pm. There was a line of 7 people and the entrance of the layaway department was blocked off with a mattress cart! Really, can we say fire hazard!! Then the gentleman at the end of the line turns around and says, I am sorry but they told me to tell anyone who comes after me that they aren't helping anymore people. I look down at my watch and see that it is 9:05 pm. They are supposed to close at 9:30 pm. So they decided to close layaway down early, again 1 person helping people, another cleaning the bathroom and another fetching stuff. Awesome!! So I go back a 3rd day in a row, spend 2 hours at the store to find out that they lost both of my layaways!!! Awesome, so now I have spent 3 days, 6 hours at this store to find out that they have lost both of my layaways. They refused to price match and would only offer me a refund. Now if anyone remembers, Black Friday weekend they were offering a special that if you spent $xx.xx amount of dollars you got $xx.xx amount of dollars back in points. So now not only do I have to do my Christmas shopping over again, they don't have what I put on layaway in stock, I am spending more money and now I lost out on all those points!!! The store manager didn't seem to think there was an issue with any of this. He said sorry sometimes this happens!! Really? That's all you got! I called corporate and filed a complaint against the store, they told me the district manager would call me back. Its been a week, no call, am I surprised no!! Spoke to someone at customer service today, they advised me to call some number to get the points that I should have gotten from the promo. Called that number and they told me to go back to the store. Absolutely poor customer service all the way around from Kmart store #3719, to Kmart customer service over the phone, to the Shop your Way Rewards number. No assistance at all other than good luck on shopping again for your kids Christmas presents and sorry you will be spending more money, as well as not getting the points you should have earned.
