  • Clean open production in the back, open concept with a wood-burning oven; you can watch them make fresh bagels. I ordered a toasted sesame with cream cheese for $2.50, was excellent. For seven dollars you can get a bagel as a sandwich with either Montreal smoked meat or lox. A funny thing happened when I was in the shop today. There was a woman who was purposely being very confusing with her order and then more confusing about money she expected back as change! And I felt like there were three of these customers in on a neighborhood shop scam! Free bagels and free money? I don't know but crimes are being perpetrated here and for good reason! These bagels are totally delicious. The family (owners) stuck it through, they were smart, they had their system and they told the woman to get lost and also what seemed like her accomplices! She did leave with a bag of bagels that she paid for correctly. So I got two things at "Montreal Bagels" today. A delicious bagel and free entertainment.
