| - As a past GoodLife hater (and I mean, I had an issue with them charging my account after a cancellation, I had to close a bank account and then because they couldn't get the money, they sent me to collections - even though I had CANCELLED), I have to say, this time around is going well.
I had originally joined at the 10 Dundas location, right at the corner of Yonge & Dundas (in the basement). I purchased not only a membership, but a personal training package for 6 months. I feel like the dude who sold it to me what a bit of a sleaze ball, and the trainer I had really made me feel like crap. Within 4 weeks at that location, I requested a new trainer, and was transferred to the GoodLife on Yonge, just south of Richmond. Sooooooooooo much better!
I have an excellent personal trainer named Amy Foran, who is motivating and supportive. I mean, I hate her during our workouts, because she's the ultimate at inflicting sudden and sustained Lactic Acid burns, but, realistically, that's what I'm paying for!
As for the facilities, this particular location is huge, with 2 floors. The main floor is vast with tons of cardio equipment, a large area for stretching, a big area which is cordoned off for personal training, and a super free weight area. To be honest, I haven't spent much time downstairs at this location, because I shower and change at home (I live super close - another bonus), but I know that the classes and all of the other things they offer are down there. I'm basing my excellent review on just HALF of what they have to offer. The gym is clean, and I see cleaning people walking around disinfecting equipment all of the time. I don't know whether I've just lucked out, or what, but I've never been there when it was so busy that I couldn't use a piece of equipment that I wanted. I'm sure it happens, but there are duplicates of most machines, so there's plenty of availability.
Also, it's a good gun show. Especially when I'm there.
