I stopped in here after an evening a romantic evening La Coquine. So impressive that this place is open until 11pm on weeknights, which makes it a perfect post-dinner stop.
The Manor road location is modestly-spaced, with about 5-6 tables. They brew Van Houtte coffee which isn't terribly impressive, but it was fine. Besides, I was there for the macarons. Let's do this.
A half dozen set us back about $12 I think, which I think is standard in the macaron world. We opted for two each of the mint chocolate, the mystery flavour, and the sea salt and caramel. The mint chocolate was too sweet for my tastes, and the mystery flavour was strawberry which was a bit of a let down. But the sea salt and caramel was like biting into an angel (I assume). The caramel buttercream filling has amazingly rich and creamy texture.
I'll certainly come back to try the other flavours, but I'll make sure to always get those sea salt and caramel ones. Awesome.
Obligatory Title Pun: Need a macaron at 9:30pm? BAM!
Menu Readability: Freaking elegant.
Need to mention: They serve brunch in the afternoons.
What this place teaches me about myself: I put the "mac" in macaroons.
