| - We stayed 2 nights recently. The hotel room was clean and the bathroom and bed were very nice. OK, that's what earned the the star.
Construction started at 6:05 am on the Monday that we were there. We were on 19th floor and it sounded like somebody dropped a dumpster from the roof every 5 minutes. We knew about the construction and the clerk gave us a room away from it, I hate to think about those close to it.
The room is functional but sparse, no dresser and this little bar rail against a mostly empty wall that is pretty much useless except to put your wallet and glasses on. There is no closet door, just a curtain rod with no curtain. No coffee maker. WiFi would not connect and my meter showed the signal was poor anyway (I work in advertising and web development so really NEED this feature). Pool is closed and there is construction dirt and dust in the elevators since they use same ones as guests. You dodge construction in various parts of lobby/casino too.
RESORT FEE - this was not disclosed but runs $28 a day and billed at checkout. The desk clerk stated that it is a "mandatory fee that ALL Vegas hotels charge". This is incorrect. Most charge this fee, but not all. The fee is to cover services like the pool (closed), the small gym room, and the wifi (not working) whether you use them or not. The clerk was professional but got rather indignant about this issue, I can guess it is a common complaint. I think most people hate being charged for stuff they don't or can't use.
As part of good customer service you would expect that they when those services are not working or not available that they would waive or reduce the fee. The construction inconvenience alone is probably enough to warrant this goodwill. They choose to charge it anyway.
In other words, they have no problem billing you for services they are not delivering at a rate that is the same, or higher, than other nicer area hotels that are actually providing the service.
We will not be staying here again.
