| - Earlier this month, I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Centre Ville hotel in Montreal. The location is within reasonable walking distance from China Town, Berri-UQAM metro station, Notredame Cathedral, restaurants and other nearby sights/attractions. The hotel staff was very courteous and pro efficient in English, French and Spanish. The daily complementary breakfast was fresh and tasty. Eggs, Canadian Bacon, Juice, coffee, you name it. Additionally, the automatic Crepes making machine is pretty cool and a sight to be hold.
The hotel itself appears to be an old refurbished residential condominium. It is well kept and pleasant. The elevator requires the guests to swipe their keys in order to reach their respective floors adding another layer of security. The rooms, at least my upgraded suite, was spacious and well furnished. 2 flat panel TVs with HBO included. Bed sheets and linens were clean. The bathroom does need upgrading including the tub that has seen better days.
Finally WIFI is free and coverage/signal strength is excellent. Perhaps the routers were recently upgraded.
If you are traveling on a budget but want to get in return the maximum for each CAD $ paid, I wholeheartedly recommend the Holiday Inn Express Centre-Ville for the leisure as well as the business traveller visiting Montreal.
