| - I've been coming here basically since the place opened and have yet to have a bad experience. Occasionally service may be a bit slower than usual, but unless I'm being completely ignored, I'm not too put off by it.
I first went here off of the recommendation of someone who told me I HAD to try the chicken fried steak. However, sitting down and looking at the menu, I realized that ordering a chicken fried steak in a BBQ joint would be akin to ordering a hamburger in a Mexican food restaurant. Not even going there!
Items I can say without a doubt are great: Pulled pork (moist and slightly smoky), turkey (thinly sliced but a great smoked flavor), smoked sausage (although it doesn't stand out above other smoked sausages elsewhere, it's still good), and ribs (I'm not a huge rib person, but they are tasty and flavorful).
My absolute favorite, must get is the burnt ends. I am a fan of huge smoke flavor and these tasty brisket ends don't disappoint! Strangely enough, the brisket itself is probably the one item on the menu I'm not a huge fan of.
The BBQ Sauce, you ask? I'm a fan of the cajun style (slightly kicky and not too sweet), which is Dillon's original sauce. The sweet and mild sauce was created for the Sun City crowd who requested a milder sauce, and the name describes it about perfectly.
The sides I've had are all pretty good, although I usually stick with a potato product and beans - why mess with something that works for you?
As others have mentioned, this is very near Sun City, expect early crowds.
And one other thing? I have yet to try the chicken fried steak.
